“booby” means a fly which incorporates buoyant material which can be fished sub-surface or a buoyant fly fished on sinking tackle;

That would seem to catch any pattern with foam or deer hair as well as any pattern you "grease up" to make it buoyant not just the specific booby style of fly with two foam eyes.

Barbless circle hooks anyone?

I guess the wardens will have to check hooks when they see someone fishing a sunk line almost static. How many actually will?

Hi,

Been away from reservoir fishing now for two seasons but still keep an eye of going on's. Read through the regs and found a couple of interesting points.

Restrictions on booby fishing

A single barbless or crimped hook must be used at all times when fishing with a booby on the reservoirs.

Is this a new restriction and how is it managed?

Eairy Dam is listed as a venue for course fishing, catch and release. For £10 you can fish this venue all year round. Is this venue still stocked with trout each year? If so, surely that has to be a bargain, as whilst fishing for Perch, I suspect the odd trout may take your bait !!
